《夏天的孩子》 坐落于芬兰交界40英里处，俄罗斯一家孤儿院发起了这么一个善举：芬兰夫妇，家庭或是一些上了年纪的市民可以利用假日时间领养院内的这些孩子。两个不同经济状况的国家之间有这么一个善意的行为，在世界上并不少见，但鲜少人研究这当中的利益和动机。这部纪录片记录了来自孤儿院一位11岁女孩 Svetlana被养父母领养后的旅程和心情。慈善真的能挽救一个破碎的童年吗？纪录片记录了在西部城市的一个家庭，一个暑假。 关于导演：

A form of charity between countries which have different economic situations is not at all unique in the world, but its benefits and motives are very little studied. The documentary follows the journey and emotions of Svetlana, an 11-year-old girl from the orphanage, and Tiina and Peter as they are brought together by good means. Iris Olsson (b. 1981), is studying documentary film at the University of Art and Design Helsinki UIAH, School of Motion Picture, Television and Production Design. She has worked as a free lancer in the field of television and film production and taught film making to children in Senegal. Summerchild is her second film made at the UIAH.
