Conrad Drzewiecki was the reformer of Polish ballet and one of the greatest dance talents of the 20th century. Even though the communist government forbade him to go back to Italy where he had earned a contract after winning first place for solo performance, he traveled the world. In Paris, he trained in acrobatics with circus performers and shared the stage with the legendary Josephine Baker. In Poland, he founded the Polish Dance Theater in Poznan. He died in 2007.
